Occupy the Dream Statement of Solidarity on Three Month Anniversary of Occupy Wall Street

The Statement

Dear Sisters and Brothers of Occupy Wall Street:
On behalf of Occupy the Dream, we resolutely and respectfully salute all of you in acknowledgment and appreciation of the tremendous progress that you have made on this the important occasion of the Three Month Anniversary of Occupy Wall Street. More than anything else, you have singularly changed the course of human history, not just in America, but also throughout the world for the cause of economic justice and equality.
Yes, in only three months you have raised the consciousness of millions of people on the issues of income inequality, economic injustice, poverty, and human misery at the cold damp hands of the greed and avarice of the 1%. The upper 1% of Americans are now taking in nearly a quarter of the nation’s income every year, as well as controlling more than 40% of the wealth of the nation. At same time government policies continue to give tax cuts to the 1% while 99% of Americans are experiencing greater economic hardship and pain.
In only three months you have given millions of people a rekindled spirit and the visible solidarity in support of daily courageous actions of nonviolent protest and civil disobedience in the living legacy of the dream and activism of The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
In only three months you have given millions of people global exposure to the brutal and awful proclivity of those would spray pepper tear gas at point blank range in the face of our students and youth who cry out for freedom, justice and equality.
In only three months you have given millions of people the transformative and therapeutic gift of hope and raised expectations of a better future for the 99% to extent to which we all continue together inclusively across all lines of division to struggle, plan, pray, demonstrate, meditate, work, focus, pool resources, share technology and talent, and build a massive participatory movement to change America and the world for the betterment of all life.
We, therefore, on this day boldly raise our fists together straight up in the air to express our complete solidarity with you. We also pause to pray a prayer of thanksgiving for the blessings that God is preveniently rendering in the rebirth of the movement.
Thank you for the continuing revival, reawakening and revitalization of the movement. Long live the spirit of the Occupy movement! Long live the spirit of the dream and its fulfillment! Occupy Wall Street! Occupy the Dream! Occupy Freedom, Economic Justice, Equality and Empowerment for all!
