A press conference will take place on Wednesday January 4, 2012 at 11am to announce a series of events to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. On January 15 & 16, 2012. The Occupy Wall Street organized #J15 Worldwide Candlelight Vigil for Unity and the Occupy the Dream Campaign announce parallel actions in the spirit of non-violence to lift high Dr. King’s dream of racial and economic equality. Candlelight vigils are scheduled across the globe on January 15th at 7pm in every time zone calling for a global movement for economic justice, as well as actions the following morning, January 16th at 10am in each time zone in the U.S., with rallies in front of Federal Reserve Banks in 13 cities. Numerous civil rights leaders and entertainers worldwide have already endorsed the actions including Pete Seeger, Dr. Ben Chavis, Reverend Steven Phelps, Russell Simmons, SCLC, K'naan, Stephan Said, Joan Baez, Rev. Jamal Bryant, Steve Earle, Sol Guy and more.
